Wow, you guys and gals really stepped it up these last couple weeks.
All of us here at Gangplank, and especially myself (@strebel) want to thank all of you for a job well done. I set a goal to raise some food for donation to St. Mary’s Foodbank in April.. 2000lbs or “A Ton” sounded like a good idea.
We got off to a good start.. but kind of stagnated in June.. a few folks really stepped up and energized the effort. Today we made our goal.. and than passed it..
Take a look at what 2517 lbs of food looks like.

TO EVERYONE
Hey kids,
Update on our #fooddrive. As you can see below we have raised a good amount. BUT WE HAVE MORE TO DO.
If you are coming to gangplank for any reason, please bring canned food donation. Bring food even if you are not coming to gangpank
. All donations are going to St. Mary’s food bank in Phx. They really need our help.
Please help.

UPDATE:

Patrick Harter seems to have his fingers in every pie in Phoenix! He talks about his involvement with Jetpack at WIU on July 30th. Then the Entrepreneurship Conference November 12th and PodcampAZ November 14-15. Seems like he does @tryharter.
We are a group of connected individuals and small businesses creating an economy of innovation and creativity in the Valley. We envision a new economic engine comprised of collaboration and community, in contrast to the silos and secrecy left by the dependence on tourism and land development.
We have the talent. We just need to work together. Different environments need to overlap, to connect and to interact in order to transform our culture. In order to create a sustainable community based on trust, we value:
collaboration over competition
community over agendas
participation over observation
doing over saying
friendship over formality
boldness over assurance
learning over expertise
people over personalities
This new economy cannot thrive without engaging the larger business, creative, entrepreneurial, governmental, and technical communities together.
We believe that innovation breeds innovation. We will transform the Valley culture into one supportive of the entrepreneurial spirit, of risk taking, of pioneering into the unknown territories as the founders of our municipalities once did. This requires education, entrepreneurship and creative workspaces.
We are Gangplank.
