We have been doing some LEGO NXT MindStorm events as part of Gangplank JR. Last month we had the First LEGO League team from Mesa Academy in to present in preparation for their run at Regionals. They ended up winning Regionals and going on to State. This solidified for us that we definitely need to be putting together a formal First LEGO League team. We would like to assemble teams for Ages 6 – 9, Ages 9 – 14, Ages 14 – 18. If you are interested in getting involved please let us know.

My 13-year-old son is definitely interested!
We had a great time this year again working with FIRST to support the State Finals at ASU. It is truly an exciting event and inspirational to see students, teachers, mentors, and families having so much fun engaged in science and technology. We’re still editing our documentary footage from the event but a number of raw clips are available via Ustream. I think one of my nephews, he’s 12, would definitely be into this.
I have a nephew that has been obsessed with Legos for years, he is 8 but has never done anything competitive or in a team.
