Obama may have had a good week with the BP oil spill being capped and his financial reform package being pushed through – but it is nothing compared to the amazing week we’ve had at Gangplank, thanks to other’s generosity.
With our ever-expanding space, our needs grow daily. Power cords, shelves, desks – we seem to be stretching our resources to the max. So last week, we put up an Amazon Wish List for members looking to contribute.
But we weren’t expecting this…
Thanks to our friends over at redPear, we now have a kick ass PA system on permanent loan, complete with two speakers, two mics and a full soundboard (that Katie is receiving a crash course on how to work). The guys from redPear were even kind enough to come over and set it up for us midway through the work day, Brandon Willey in a full suit!
We also have Jay McGavren to thank for donating items off our Amazon Wish List. Thanks to Jay, Gangplank now has the desperately needed batteries that keep our endless amounts of bluetooth keyboards and mice working.
There have also been countless donations from local businesses over the last two weeks.
- Prisma Graphics donated printing services for the Fat Off 2010 challenge cards.
- Joe’s Real BBQ not only is providing their finger-licking good sliders for tonight’s Desert Bloom Phoenix concert ‘Beats & Brushes’, but offered to increase the number of sliders and time their staff will be on site to try and accommodate the crowd.
- 24 Carrots has both sponsored a brownbag academy session and run a nutrition class for our Fat Off 2010 participants.
- Councilmember Jeff Weninger, owner of Floridino’s and Dilly’s Deli kindly brought in complimentary pizza during the work week to keep us moving and motivated, as well as sponsored this week’s Tech Lunch South.
Thank you to all our members and the local community for making each week better than the last. We hope to see you all out tonight for an incredible mix of art and music at 7pm.

Heh, I think RedPear wins. :) But you’re welcome anyway. And thanks to everyone at GangPlank for hosting so many of the events that make Chandler a great place to be a geek.
