Fall 2011 will be one for the record books here at Gangplank. Not only are we preparing for the opening of Gangplank Tucson, the Avondale City Council has approved a $1-a-year lease of their old City Hall building to start a Gangplank in the West Valley.
When we were initially approached by the City of Avondale, we looked at how Gangplank’s goals align with those of the city. We were pleased to discover many similarities, including a desire to collaborate with other economic development offices to raise the profile of the Phoenix-metro area as a whole. Expanding to the West Valley not only opens up Gangplank to new ideas and communities, but completes a regional network of collaborative spaces.
So what’s next?
Construction on the space at 525 N Central Ave in Old Town Avondale will begin in September, with the hope to open by October. We are fortunate to have Jeremy Vaught championing our westside efforts. Jeremy will be reaching out to interested groups, as well as any potential Anchor companies. To be included on any updates, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
