Sensors have been around for many years in military, aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications. With the adoption in game controllers and smartphones just seven years ago, we have seen an explosion in their use in consumer electronics, the internet of things and wearable devices. And there is much more to come in new market segments. Steve will describe how the next-generation of sensors are creating opportunities to shape the future of products, buildings, cities, healthcare and more. He’ll explore where sensing devices and applications will invade our lives for our good or maybe our detriment. Either way, opportunities abound.

Steve Whalley is currently the Chief Strategy Officer for MEMS Industry Group. Previously at Intel for 20+ years, Whalley managed numerous PC, mobile and server platform technology enabling activities and several industry initiatives. He says one of his most fun jobs at Intel was as a core team member in the creation of USB.
